This week we have continued our topic of Castles and the children have enjoyed role play in our very own castle/home corner!
We have spent time this week exploring 2D and 3D shapes; learning the names of the shapes and talking about their properties. We have been on 2D and 3D shape hunts around the classroom and used 3D shapes to build and create.
in our Literacy we talked about the foods we would have in a feast which included chicken pie, ham sandwiches and dog! We then wrote our Menu for a Feast and decided we would have our own feast next Friday!
We explored sound and tempo in our Music session; using the musical instruments, we practised playing slow and quietly then fast and loud and finally we used the instruments as an accompaniment to the song “I had a little turtle….!”
Don’t forget next week is the last week before half term then when we return we will be in our final term for the reception children before they move to year one! The children mostly seem excited about moving on but some are not looking forward to leaving the FSU. We will be doing lots of Moving On work with the children to ensure they are fully prepared. Any worries or questions please let us know.
Have a great weekend
