The children have been practising their number recognition with our numbered chicks, matching number to quantity with the sparkly eggs and dots. During circle time we challenged the children to name the numbered chicks and put them in number order!
The children have been making colourful Easter cards for family and friends they all used their own individual ideas. They were also practicing recognising and writing their name in their cards as well.
The children have really engaged in painting hard boiled eggs yellow ready to decorate them by adding eyes, a feather, a beak and some grass, we only had a couple of eggs fall on the floor and crack!!! Ooops!
The children made yellow play dough for our Easter Topic and used the play dough mats for counting. Each matt required you to make 1 Hen, 2 baskets, 3 eggs for a basket or 4 eggs for the nest.
Elva from Chagford Church came to visit us on Wednesday and she made Chocolate Easter Nest with the children, who were brilliant at listening to the instructions and the story that she told.
Our trip to RAMM on Thursday with Big Robins Class was a huge success; all the children and parents were very well behaved and represented Chagford Primary School with excellent behaviour!
