This week we have begun looking at the ancient Maya religion. Did you know that the Maya believed in over 150 Gods? We don’t have the time to learn about all of them so we have looked at a few and have decided to design our own.
What would your Maya God look like? What are they the God of? Do the Maya people need to hold sacrifices to appease them? (I hope not!)
In English we have been developing our descriptive language, and in Maths we have made lots of progress, from ordering numbers to adding and subtracting mentally!
The Maths homework was sent out on Wednesday and is due back on Monday. The English homework will be sent home with the children tomorrow (Friday) and is due back the following Tuesday. The children will also have 10 spellings in their spelling book for them to practice – these will be tested next Friday.
Last, but certainly not least, I am very excited to confirm that we will have Historical Storyteller Steve Manning joining us in class on the morning of Monday 28th September. We will be exploring what it would have been like for the archaeologists who first discovered the Maya.
