News from the Head Teacher
As you know this has been an interesting journey for us as a school so far and the real work is yet to begin but this represents an exciting step forwards. This really is excellent news, not least because it means our children and staff can now look forward to being in a building that meets their learning and teaching needs. The timescale for the start of works has not been confirmed yet and probably won’t be until after half term but I will keep you fully in the picture as the project unfolds.
Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm for this fantastic educational opportunity for our children, here at Chagford C E School. This will be an amazing journey for us and I look forward to working alongside the whole school community in further developing our school grounds around the new building, over the coming few years.
On Tuesday 7th February we are welcoming the children’s author Tom McLaughlin into school to conduct workshops for all our children. The day will focus on story writing and the teachers will follow this up with an opportunity for the children to write their own story to enter into the Chagword competition. A letter has been sent to you outlining the day but if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask. I am sure that the children will gain enthusiasm and inspiration for their own writing from listening and working alongside Tom on the day.

Hedgehog Class: Theo for being a positive role model towards his peers as we explored fractions in maths. Maisie-Jayne for being brave and sharing her ideas during our expressive artwork in response to music.
Otter Class:Joanna for brilliant behaviour both in and out of school, being a perfect role model and being able to identify areas which she finds hard and know when to ask for help. Will for presentation of his work, not accepting his first effort as his best and going back and having another go, exceptional effort in his homework.
Badger Class: Fox Class: Jamie for showing some great learning behaviours in class this week. Barnaby for his good trio work this week in all subject areas.
Red Deer Class: Biba for her enthusiasm and energy, determination to learn and ability to organise others as she led her trio in constructing their Anglo-Saxon village.
