It has been an exciting week watching the scaffolding coming down at the front of the new school. The building is looking very impressive and we are very pleased with the quality of the build so far.
The weather this week has meant that the children have been able to access the outdoor environment to support their learning across the whole curriculum. Chantal has been busy planting with the children and harvesting the vegetables from the existing school garden before the end of the summer term.
Many of our classes have been involved in the running a mile a week challenge around the school grounds and the running club had its first meet this week, with 23 pupils taking part. Thank you to all the volunteer runners who have committed to helping to run off site with the club – it is greatly appreciated. The club certainly could not run if we didn’t have the appropriate supervision.
Can I please remind everyone with the weather set to change that children should have appropriate footwear at school in the summer months. Sandals are allowed however they do need to be brown, black or white and suitably strapped to allow running around at playtimes. If the weather continues to get hot then hats and water bottles are a must in school at all times. Please make sure that hats are labelled too. I would recommend that suncream is applied before coming into school rather than applying here at school.
My last reminder is about tying hair back. Many of the girls and boys have long hair and come into school first thing in the morning without their hair tied back. Please can you ensure that all hair is tied back for safety and also to stop the spread of head lice.
Have a lovely Bank Holiday Weekend.
Reminder that as a school, we use SIMS Parent Lite to collect, manage and handle key information about your child by obtaining accurate data securely from parents. Please help us to ensure your child’s data is correct and up to date. If you require an additional login then please contact the school office. Your activation email will now have expired so you will need to contact the school office if you require a replacement. Thank you to all parents who have registered, checked and edited their child’s data.
