Newsletter Friday 2nd February 2018
Dear Parents and Friends
On Wednesday we had the Heads from the newly formed Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust schools come to have a look at our school and meet the staff. As always I was proud to walk around our school and see the children focused and on target with their learning and to demonstrate the enormous creativity that our school and community hold. Of course much of the discussion was around the exciting new building and how this was progressing towards completion in the summer. They were impressed with how much space the children were going to have in the new school and the potential plans for the outdoor learning spaces in the future.
Next week the school council pupils will be taken onto the construction site to be the first ones to step inside the new school structure. They will get the opportunity to take some photos and ask lots of questions to the site manager Chris Jewell, who will talk about what has been done so far and how things will progress in the coming months. The children will then hold their own assembly for the rest of the school to explain what they saw and the plans for the next stages. This is a fantastic opportunity for the children to step foot on a construction site and to see what sort of jobs there are in the construction industry as well as get the first impressions of their new space for September.
Don’t forget that next Saturday 10th February is the PTFA Chocoholics Coffee Morning in Endecott House which is always so popular. Please support our school’s fund raising and at the same time enjoy plenty of sweet delights. What more can you ask!

News and information
Just to remind you all that the ‘Win a Chromebook’ competition is coming to an end next week and if children are hoping to enter they need to get their entries in to yourselves or me to send off to Matt Smith by Friday 9th February to be in with a chance to win! To enter, children need to create a PowerPoint Presentation/Web page if they have the know how that promotes E-Safety and, in particular, this year’s theme of Create, Connect and Share Respect. With Safer Internet day coming up, it might be a good opportunity to kill two birds with one stone and produce a PowerPoint on E-Safety for the competition and to promote being safer online?
SOS – From Little Robins. We urgently need socks and jogging bottoms to be donated for the FSU.
