This has been a very exciting week in Oak Class.
We have been bug hunting. We got outside to locate bugs and look at their habitat and what they looked like – this was great fun.
In Art we have continued our work on David Hockney and learnt about contrasting and complimentary colours using the colour wheel. We looked carefully at his work and drew fields using his style. This will help us when we draw and colour our own coastal landscape.
Our work on the Amazon continues and we will be going on a trip to Dawlish soon (details to follow) to help us write our own hybrid text about the coast.
Finally, what a fantastic end to the week as we celebrated World Book Day 2019 in style! We even had an appearance from Thurlstone, the Rambling Isle! Well done to all of Oak Class who came dressed as their favourite book characters – and a special mention to Lissy and Bertie who were the overall winners this year in Oak Class. Take a look at our photos and see if you can guess some of the characters.
Dates for your diary:
14th March Oak Class assembly.
21st March Trip to Dawlish – letter and details to follow. If you would like to help on this trip then please speak to Deborah or I. There are a few spaces and we will be back by 3:30.
Have a lovely weekend,
Miss B and Miss P
