Dear Parents/Carers

Christmas Theatre Trip 2014

The PTFA are delighted to announce that George’s Marvellous Medicine is showing at The Northcott Theatre, Exeter and we would very much like to take the children to see it as a Christmas treat.

We have booked tickets for Tuesday 16 December for the 1.30pm performance. We will be having an early lunch at school (so school dinners will be available for those that want them) at 11.45am, then travelling by coaches to Exeter (leaving school at 12.15pm). The show is 1hour 40minutes and we have coaches arranged to pick us up from the theatre at 3.30pm. Therefore there will be NO school buses running at the end of the school day so please arrange to collect your child/children from school at around 4.15 – 4.30pm. Please ensure your child arrives at school on the day with a coat, snack and a drink. Please, no chocolates or sweets.

The PTFA are paying for the cost of all the coaches. They are also subsidising the cost of the tickets which would normally be £10 each. We are asking for a voluntary donation of £7.50 per child, £5 per sibling thereafter. No pupil will be prevented from participating because his/her parents cannot or will not make a contribution. However, if insufficient funds are available, it may be necessary to cancel the trip. We have ensured that there are appropriate levels of staffing for all of the children to be supervised. For clarification, we have been advised the show is not suitable for very little children, as it is quite long, so we are unable to extend the trip to our Mondrian Class this year.

Please make your voluntary contribution and give consent for each child to attend via School Gateway by Friday 5th December. Please call the school office if you have any queries.

We are very grateful to the PTFA for funding this whole school trip. We hope it will be an exciting and memorable trip for all the children.  However, if you would prefer your child not to attend, please contact the school office. However, please note there will be no school transport at the end of the day so you would need to arrange to collect your child at 3.30pm.

We are all looking forward to a very special afternoon. If you have any questions please contact the school office or catch Ruth (PTFA Chair) in the playground or on
