Welcome to Chagford C of E Primary School Parents, Teachers and Friends Association The PTFA is a registered charity (1107183) with the aim of raising funds for the benefit of all the children at Chagford C of E Primary School. Our goal is to complement and enrich the children’s education, and provide extra equipment/facilities not covered by the general school budget. All parents are automatically members of the PTFA and are welcome to participate as much or as little as they wish. Anyone connected to the school is invited to attend meetings which are currently being held online half-termly. New faces are always welcome. We organise a wide range of activities which support the school and pupils, while also building strong relationships with our wider school family and local community. We are always in need of volunteers! It could be putting up posters around town, using contacts to engage local media or request prize donations, sharing fundraising ideas, technical knowhow….if you can help in any way please do get in touch by emailing chagfordschoolptfa@gmail.com Other simple ways to help are by registering for Easyfundraising and AmazonSmile. If you are shopping online anyway, a percentage of what you pay is donated to Chagford PTFA without costing you anything extra. In the first part of the last school year (2019/20), we raised just over £4,000 through the Sponsored Swim, Christmas Fayre, cake raffle, play refreshments, Easyfundraising and Amazon Smile, as well as running a very successful book drive in the local community. Sadly, the current challenging situation has rather stymied our fundraising efforts. However, our children are all back at school and now, more than ever, we need to raise funds to support and enrich their school experience. We owe a great deal of gratitude to Elvie Baker, a former pupil of our school, who raised over £1,500 for the SEND department at the school. During the first half of the Autumn Term 2021, we have used these funds to purchase all sorts of incredible items to support our SEND pupils, including bean bags, mirrors, and play equipment. Well done and THANK YOU, Elvie! The guidelines for making a funding request can be found here. To make a funding request, please complete the Funding Request Form.
