Hello everyone, hope you have had a lovely week, we certainly have in EYFS! This week we have been learning more about Christmas, why It Is Important to Christians, and the different ways we can celebrate. One of the ways we can celebrate is by counting down the days to Christmas! Our focus activity for the week was creating our very own Advent Calendars to count down to Christmas day. Together as a class we have learnt how many days are In December before Christmas, and how we are counting the days up to the birth of Jesus Christ. After looking at different Advent Calendars we decided that ours needed pictures behind the flaps that celebrated Christmas, so worked hard to draw Santa, Rudolph, Christmas Trees, and many other things! After we drew our pictures, we carefully cut out and stuck on our flaps, before using the number board to write the correct dates on each flap. We are excited to open a new flap each down on the countdown to Christmas! We are beginning to understand the Importance of this day to Christians as It celebrated the birth of a special person, Jesus Christ the son of God. During our Nativity practice we have talked about how the birth of Jesus was celebrated on Christmas day through gift giving and related this to our own gift giving at home. We have been so excited creating our own Nativity that we can't stop talking about it! This week we have been writing our own versions of the Nativity ready for our performance! Look at our Little Robins using their clipboards to mark down their own stories. They then acted It out using themselves and small world props to retell the story! We have had another lovely week In EYFS and look forward to seeing you again on Monday. Have a lovely weekend everyone!
