Over the last two weeks, Otters have been very active with sports day, putting up tents and many challenges along the way.
We have begun looking at a new book to do with our topic of sustainable living called ‘Until I met Dudley’, a brilliant book where a girl thinks that lots of modern inventions are actually mythical beats hidden inside, like a dragon breathing fire on a toaster. The children have enjoyed learning about the book and I look forward to seeing their imaginative ideas when it comes to writing their own. Through our Sustainable Living topic we have looked at reducing our impact on the earth and helping those around us to do the same, can you spot any of our amazing posters around the school? Putting up tents allowed children to see how people may live without the use of heating and imagine living purely off the earth. They also found out how tricky it is to do when you may not have had much practice. I hope that we can speed up ready for the camp at the end of term, hopefully the letters have made it home. In Science we have begun creating electrical circuits to help us understand how different objects work in order to create our own renewable inventions and explanatory texts which have both started coming together.
Athletics was topped off this term with sports day, which was a brilliant event although very hot. The children excelled themselves and worked incredibly hard both as a team and individually. Thank you to all those that came and supported. It was a brilliant event.
Please let me know if you have any questions regarding camp or anything else regarding the end of term.
