Hello everyone
Another week has gone in a flash as we speed towards the end of term. We have been talking about 'time' a lot in class this week as this is our Maths learning at the moment. Next week, Beech will be learning to tell the time to the hour and half hour. The class are mastering the songs for Fantastic Mr Fox and thank you for the costumes that have so far been sent into school for the show next week. It will be a real highlight of the year and we hope that you'll enjoy their efforts which are spectacular. The week ended wonderfully with our Outdoor Learning session with Kale on Friday afternoon. I hope you have a great weekend.

What a fabulous week we have had in Beech - two trips out, wall to wall sunshine! After our wonderful trip up to St Michael's on Tuesday, the week ended spectacularly with Rainbow Day fittingly celebrated with doughnuts and games at the park. Thank you to the PTA for the refreshments and to all the adults who have helped on our trips.
The children continue to practice their songs for Fantastic Mr Fox and please send in costumes next week if possible. Hope you have an amazing weekend. Hello everyone

The children are enjoying the Science topic on Animals, this week looking at the difference between living things and non-living things. In Geography, the class were learning about the different layers of the oceans. We were very grateful to end the week in the cool shade of the forest area for our Woodland School session. All in all, it has been a busy and wonderful week. Have a super weekend! Hello everyone
It was great to see everyone back in class this week after the half term break. The next few weeks will fly by as we approach the end of this final term in Year 1 and we continue to do make the most of everyday day's learning. This week, the children enjoyed making Great Horned Owls in collage and they are all working hard to learn the songs for the performance of Fantastic Mr Fox. It has been lovely catching up with many of you this week for Parent Meetings and I look forward to more conversations next Tuesday with the telephone appointments. Have a wonderful weekend Miss Lloyd Thank you to all of Beech Class for their amazing learning and effort over this half term! Thank you to all the parents and carers for your tremendous support. It's been an amazingly sunny week both inside and outside the classroom and lots has been achieved. The week ended with a session in the Woodland School which tied in beautifully with our Science topic this term - Plants. I am amazed at the children's knowledge of, and identification of plants, trees and wildflowers, the latter, Pink Campion is flowering profusely in the woodland area. At the end of today, the children planted the broad bean seeds that have been growing in class for 4 weeks. They are now happily ensconced in one of the school vegetable plots and we look forward to seeing how they grow and in time, taste. Hope you have a great weekend. Hello everyone
It has been another action-packed week in Beech class and was with only four days in school this week! The children have been busy with all the usual routines which were interspersed with preparations for the big Coronation party - decorating crowns and Union Jacks, learning about the Monarchy and also learning to sing the National Anthem with Mr Finch in assembly. The week ended with a wonderful Coronation party fit for a King and Queen! Thank you to you all for the cakes which were devoured. It really was a truly special and memorable occasion. Hope you have a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend! It's been a happy week of learning and laughter in Beech Class who continue to buzz with enthusiasm and wonder of the world! As part of our History topic, the children are really enjoying showing family photos and mementoes, so please do keep these coming over the next four weeks. For our Science topic on Plants, some broad beans were planted last week and some of the seeds are sprouting which is a happy relief! Today, Beech Class enjoyed their outdoor learning session with Kale and were able to identify many wildflowers and trees which made a wonderful end to a fabulous week.
