Lantern Making and Wonderful Learning

Beech class have been exceptionally busy this week! Christmas is quickly creeping up on us and so, in preparation, Beech class had a lantern making lesson on Monday. They have created the frames for their lanterns, which we will be covering with tissue paper and decorating in the coming days.

In Maths, the year 1 children have been learning about 2D and 3D shapes and have been learning how to sort them into groups (Please see images below). Year 2 have been working very hard on their learning about money and even had a hunt to find money hidden around the classroom!

In Literacy, the children have written their own riddles and created Kenning poems. Please do ask your children if they can challenge you to solve their riddle. Below is the riddle they wrote as a class, can you guess what the fruit?
