Hi everyone!
This week Oak class have been continuing to show me how excellent their work is, and just how hard they can work! In English, we have been planning a fairy tale to go along with the book 'Journey', as the book has no words. I've been so impressed by the work that they have produced, and I can't wait to see their finished stories next week! On Friday, we held our cake sale for Children in Need. Thank you to everyone who baked some absolutely delicious cakes - the whole school enjoyed them, and we nearly sold out! We discussed in class how the money that we raise will help children who may be less fortunate than ourselves, and all the children showed really maturity when talking about how they could help those children. The combined donations for wearing 'what makes you happy', and the cake sale meant that Oak class raised a total of £124 for Children in Need - well done Oak class, you should be very proud of yourselves! (and can I just say that I was LOVING everyone's outfits today! I could see why those clothes would make you happy!) See you all again on Monday! Miss Paddon

Hi everyone!
It was wonderful to get back to school after half-term, and to see how excited the children were to start learning again! We became Year 2/3 and welcomed our new Year 2's into Oak class, who have settled in quickly. This week in English we have been thinking about story writing, and practicing using exciting adjectives to create a vivid story. We had a go at writing our own stories from one of four starter sentences, then we created our very own pop-up 'story stages'. The children worked really hard on Friday to make these look fantastic, and I was very impressed at their finished stages. Have a look below for a few examples! Have a lovely weekend, Miss Paddon |
