This week, in maths we have been recapping our knowledge of fractions. Investigating halves and quarters of number and shapes. Some of the class investigated how many times a piece of paper could be folded in half. Can you find all 8 ways?
In English, we have learnt about a new Greek myth Icarus and Daedalus. Having read different version the class were really interested the idea of the idea of differences in story telling. In the afternoon, the class looked at the differences between Sparta and Athens. We looked how education, government, Geography, life of boys and girls were different in the two areas In Ancient Greece. The class then enjoyed a debate about where they would rather live with some interesting ideas. See below. " Athens because you get a choice of what you can do" Jack " Athens as you get to go to school" Murphy "Sparta because girls would be trained to box" Grace " Athens because I can choose to be in the army" Rafi " Athens because you had a tiny bit more choice. Sparta because I would get to go into the mountains. (But I'd prefer Postbridge or Chagford, honestly!)" George In French we have been looking eye colour, hair length and appearance. Can they tell which they have? Here is some help. ( The red id some help with pronunciation).
