It's been a really fun week in Oak class. On Monday morning, we had a very strange delivery - a little red crayon! We don't know who it was from, but then on Tuesday morning a little red door appeared in the class... We later discovered the very same door in our English lesson and the book we were looking at, and soon discovered that behind it lay a new, magical world! We spent the rest of the week trying to use some super adjectives, and vivid vocabulary to describe the setting from the book.
On Friday, we had a little trip up to the church in Chagford, to see the displays which both the school and community have contributed to. They celebrate the environment, and with the COP26 conference coming to a close, it was fantastic to see the children really engage with how we could protect our wonderful world. Reverend Paul showed us the different displays, and we saw the mandala which has been made out of natural treasures which the children at Chagford Primary had collected - we even tried to draw our own mandalas!
Next Friday (19th November) is BBC Children in Need, and Oak class will be holding a cake sale to help raise money for this fantastic cause. We want to have lots of baked goodies to sell, (if you can), please have a go at some baking and bring it in to sell on Friday morning! (but, please avoid using nuts!)
