It has been another lovely week in Birch class! Here are the highlights of our week….
In our WW2 topic, we analysed primary and secondary sources of evidence for signs of the ‘Blitz spirit’. Was it a real thing? Or was it propaganda?
In Maths, we finished our first 2-week block on Place Value. Y6 did an amazing job; all making a lot of progress since the start of term. Some children made more than 50% progress and somebody even made 1900% progress!!
In English, we’ve started writing our Lockdown diary entries. We’ve been studying Flossie’s War Diary for 3 weeks now and we’ve learned a lot! Sentence construction, dashes, apostrophes for contraction/possession, fronted adverbials, formal/informal writing – we’ve done it all!
In RE we looked at the main beliefs of Hindus – moksha, samsara, karma, Brahman. We also discussed what our ‘after-life’ beliefs were and looked at what Hindus believe.
We also had French with Mrs Robertson, PE with our Saints coach, Art with Mr Dray and Music with Mrs Rowe!
