Last term we explored pivots and levers and the class made monsters with moving parts. They are going up on display in our corridor as they are fantastic fun. In Maths we have learned about 2D and 3D shapes, and are now learning about money. In the next few days we’ll be moving on to Multiplication and Division. In English, we are learning to write for different purposes, including poetry, reports and story retellings, focussing on noun phrases to make our writing impactful. In PHSE we are learning about how we are all different, and how these things make us special. In Art, we are learning about the artist Matisse, and using his cut out paper shapes to inspire our own designs. We are also working on a class canvas to display in the Reception area – also based on the work of Matisse. I would like to give the class a big shout out, as I was off sick for a few days and they had several different teachers covering. They got lots of lovely feedback from the teachers about their focus, their learning and their resilience during a week of change. I am so proud of them and very glad to back with them in the classroom!
Best, Ms Hall
