Happy Easter everyone
This term Yew class have worked extremely hard, showing great strides in their learning and maturity. In English – we have used the Minpins to inspire writing activities and we have focussed on past, present and future tense, apostrophes for different purposes and creating descriptive writing. In Maths we have been learning about mass, capacity and temperature, weighing various items using scales, and thinking about the volume of water in different vessels. We have been learning about Holy week and Easter and created storyboards and artwork in response to our learning. In PHSE we have been following Harold, and how we can make good, safe choices in life, thinking about what we find scary and how that is different for each of us. In Design and Technology, we have worked in groups to make ferris wheels. This was an adventure of problem solving and team working and creativity and resilience when things don’t work! The class have created some amazing ferris wheels with working mechanisms and moving pods. We had a class trip to the Library, explored the books, learned how the library works and listened to a story. This week we made Easter cakes and everybody had the chance to ice and decorate them and then of course, eat them! Have a wonderful Easter break everyone! Love from Yew Class
