Welcome back to Spring 2!
We’ve had a lovely week settling back in and have covered so much in just one week!
In Maths, we have tackled finding both unit and non-unit fractions of amounts for quantities of different objects and money. Lots of great vocabulary being used and super teamwork across Year 2 and Year 3 which is always a welcome sign.
In English, we have been learning more about how to structure questions using some very cool Star Wars ‘Where’s Wally?’ styled images and are now building our fact files ready for creating our own question and answer fact files next week.
In Music, we have been creating our own songs using real notation and learning some simple songs with the correct finger positions. Big thank you as always to Miss Rowe for arranging and teaching with us!
Our most exciting news this week has been that we delivered an excellent assembly all about E-Safety and how to stay safe online. The children were fantastic and shared their lines with loud, clear voices about this very important topic. A huge well done Yew Tree!
We also got a sneaky peek at our new thatched playhouse which Charlie and Chantal have been working hard to create. It was a great experience and lovely to link modern day thatching with our previous topic/current topic of Anglo-Saxon and Viking villages!
Finally, a message to parents to remind you all that Parent’s evening is next week on Monday and Tuesday nights for Yew Tree Class. The sign up sheet is in the office now so please choose a slot and I look forward to sharing what your child has been up to in Spring term.
Have a great Friday and weekend everyone!
Joe Skinner and the Year 2/3 team.
