Week 2 has been a good one in Yew Tree class!
In English this week, we have been exploring our new book: ‘Daisy Doodles!’ This is a great book with some lovely pictures but we’ve decided as a class the sentences are a bit young or boring! So our challenge next week is to rewrite the story using some more exciting sentences and ideas!
In Maths, we have been ordering shapes and learning about the nets of 3D shapes. We enjoyed using Venn diagrams and discussing how to categorise different shapes.
In Science, we are looking at food and nutrition and what it is that humans need to survive and in Computing we have begun our work on E-Safety through a great online game called ‘Interland.’ It’s free to play and can be found here: https://beinternetawesome.withgoogle.com/en_us/interland
In PE we have been using our gymnastics work to create dance routines to music and finally in RE and History we have begun exploring the Anglo Saxons and the teachings of Sikhism. Phew what a busy week it has been!
Next week, we are looking forward to a visit from the Birdman who will be talking to the school about different birds of prey and even bringing in his feathered friends, creating a class version of Daisy Doodles, exploring Sikhism and Anglo Saxons further and lots more!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Joe Skinner and the Year 2/3 team.
