About Chagford Church of England Primary School

Chagford Church of England Primary School is a fully inclusive school which provides a nurturing environment for children to learn through a creative and ambitious curriculum, designed to provide them with the knowledge and skills to flourish in the 21st Century.

We are a growing school where children join us from 2 years of age until they are 11, when they reach Year 6. We currently have five classes, including two classes which are mixed age ranges; however, as our numbers continue to build, we will open up new classes until we achieve our goal of being single-age classes throughout.

We have a beautiful new building, which opened in September 2018 with stunning grounds wrapped around it, comprising:

wild areas designed to attract minibeasts and wildlife
a large school field for sports and activities
a dedicated environmental study area
a bat house
an amphitheatre
playground
a stone circle (our very own 'stone henge'!)
raised beds for children to grow their own food.

The scope of the grounds is huge and we are excited to be working with parents and the community to fully explore and maximise the benefits of the grounds.

Our school is perfectly placed within the Dartmoor National Park, so with such a wonderful resource on our 'doorstep' we ensure that we make the most of the amazing learning opportunities available to us.
