Our approach to behaviour
At Chagford Church of England School, we pride ourselves on our behaviour and positive relationships. We set high expectations of behaviour and the pupils respond brilliantly, respecting boundaries and treating staff and their peers with respect and warmth. Our school's vision 'Community, Challenge, Care' sets a blueprint for behavior across the school - we live, learn and grow together as a community, challenged to care for each other, for our school and for the wider community beyond. We aim to be fully relational in our approach to behaviour, putting relationships at the heart of our practice. We believe that behaviour is a form of communication and we can often learn about what is challenging or difficult for pupils by considering what they are telling us through the way they behave towards each other and towards their learning in class.
