Chagford Church of England Primary School has a distinct identity informed by our vision and values, by our community, by our familes and thier hopes and aspirations for their children, by the place we come from and, certainly not least, by our identity as a Church of England School. Our vision 'Community, Challenge, Care' is underpinned by our understanding of Hebrews 10;24 'And let us consider how we may spur each other on toward love and good work.'
Church of England Schools are called to serve their communities for the good of all. We are called to consider the whole child - not merely their narrow academic progress We are called to live out ideals of service and care through how we are as much as through what we do. We connect mindfully to that which is greater than ourselves and exemplify that to our pupils. We learn to serve our communities and our world as much as we are served by them.
Being a Church of England School does not mean we want to squeeze community, staff, families or puipils into any faith box - quite the opposite - we want to liberate each and every person who comes into our school community to be most truly themselves. We are fearfully and wonderfuly made (Psalms 139:14) by God who wants us to live life in all its fullness (John 10:10). It's our job as a church school to do our bit to help every pupil, and our community, to realise that fullness.
