Welcome to Chagford C of E Primary School Parents, Teachers and Friends Association
The PTFA is a registered charity (1107183) with the aim of raising funds for the benefit of all the children at Chagford C of E Primary School. Our goal is to complement and enrich the children’s education, and provide extra equipment/facilities not covered by the general school budget. All parents are automatically members of the PTFA and are welcome to participate as much or as little as they wish. Anyone connected to the school is invited to attend meetings which are currently being held online half-termly. New faces are always welcome.
We organise a wide range of activities which support the school and pupils, while also building strong relationships with our wider school family and local community. We are always in need of volunteers! It could be putting up posters around town, using contacts to engage local media or request prize donations, sharing fundraising ideas, technical knowhow….if you can help in any way please do get in touch by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
Other simple ways to help are by registering for Easyfundraising and AmazonSmile. If you are shopping online anyway, a percentage of what you pay is donated to Chagford PTFA without costing you anything extra.
In the first part of the last school year (2019/20), we raised just over £4,000 through the Sponsored Swim, Christmas Fayre, cake raffle, play refreshments, Easyfundraising and Amazon Smile, as well as running a very successful book drive in the local community. Sadly, the current challenging situation has rather stymied our fundraising efforts. However, our children are all back at school and now, more than ever, we need to raise funds to support and enrich their school experience.
We owe a great deal of gratitude to Elvie Baker, a former pupil of our school, who raised over £1,500 for the SEND department at the school. During the first half of the Autumn Term 2021, we have used these funds to purchase all sorts of incredible items to support our SEND pupils, including bean bags, mirrors, and play equipment. Well done and THANK YOU, Elvie!

We are so thrilled to finally be able to host a social event at the school once again. It will take place on Saturday 23 October from 11am - 3pm in the grounds of the school - a great opportunity for friends in the community who have not yet seen behind the school since the new build a few years ago!
We are currently looking for people to man some of the games for us, so if you would like to volunteer, please get in touch (email@example.com).
If you would like to bake an apple cake and enter it into The Cracking Chagford Cake Scoff, please let us have your submission by 11:30 on Saturday. Judging will take place at 12:00, or thereabouts.

A book of five raffle tickets will be in your child/ren’s book bags today. There are some brilliant prizes this year, thanks to the generosity of local businesses and friends of the school. It would be great if you could buy/sell these tickets and return the slips along with cash or cheque to school reception by Tuesday 15th December. The draw will take place on Wednesday 16th December (winning tickets will be numbered with first drawn having first choice of prize - we will contact each winner in turn). If you are unable to use your tickets please feel free to return them to reception to be re-used. Likewise, if you feel able to sell more tickets please feel free to pick up more from reception! You can also e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org to pay by BACS and have tickets entered into the draw by us.
The Chagford School Tote bag is coming! The ‘must have’ accessory this season! ;) You will find a letter with all the information in book bags today and a form allowing you to pre-order these fabulous bags with the children’s hand drawn self-portraits on. Please return the form as soon as possible so we know how many bags we have left to sell.
