I've been delighted to end the week on such a high with Hawthorn Class! At the moment, we're learning about states of matter in Science, so learnt what makes a solid, a liquid and a gas. That said, we've just been outside playing with Oobleck! It was so much fun to see how this mixture of cornflour and water could sometimes act like a solid and sometimes like a liquid! There's also been many an act of kindness going on around school, which we have been celebrating as one of our school values. A particular thank you to the children who have been so caring and inclusive in the playground. We've made an effort this week to actively show kindness towards all members of the school community, even if they're not our particular friends.

Hawthorn class have had a wonderful start to the Summer Term! Just a few highlights have included:

• Starting our new Egyptians project and exploring the Egyptian Creation story
• Training for athletics with games that work on our speed and agility - next stop, sprinting!
• Continuing our Daily Dash - the class have run a mile per day which is the equivalent of 6 and a half laps around the field. They have nearly reached our first goal of a marathon (26 miles). Keep going, everybody!
• Learning another beautiful Beatles song with Ms Rowe - this time, 'Blackbird'. Hawthorn class are great singers and this song is sure to sound absolutely stunning - I can't wait to hear it.
