This week we focused upon thinking about the kind of behaviour we enjoy here at Chagford Primary School. We agreed we like all it best when we are all happy, having fun and feeling safe. We looked at our Behaviour Policy and our Anti Bullying statement. In assemblies we thought about the kind of people we want to be and the kind of behaviour we think is acceptable. We thought about the way Jesus behaved and the meaning of Luke 6:31 ‘Do to others as you would have them do to you.’ On Tuesday evening (10th November), we were pleased to welcome many parents to a virtual ‘Teams’ meeting to follow up on our first meeting held at the start of term in September. Please find below some notes from the meeting, which we would like to share with you all, especially if you were not able to attend. These will also be available to view on our Facebook page.
SCHOOL UPDATE – Tara Penny/Elizabeth Underwood Feedback suggests a renewed positivity as a result of this new dialogue between the school leadership and parents. School Library Service Thanks to two generous donations from Chagford parents, we are delighted that the school library service has now been reinstated at both Chagford and at North Tawton. Book boxes of the recommended reading titles, as well as topic boxes to support learning in the wider curriculum have been ordered. Dear Chagford Families,
I do hope you are all well. This week I had the unfortunate experience of suffering migraine and spent Thursday under my duvet. My greatest sympathies to anyone who suffers this as it was most unpleasant. I’m back to work today and feel fine. Hope Our value last half term was hope. In assemblies and PSHE, we spoke about our hopes for ourselves, our families and for the world. In art lessons, children created mosaics with Mr Dray. He has created a wonderful display with the children’s work. Menu Autumn Term 2020 16th November – 18th December 2020

We really appreciate you wearing face masks at drop off and collection, and observing distancing from staff and each other. If you need to come to the school office, please make sure you are wearing a mask and only come in one at a time. As far as possible, please communicate with us via email or by phoning the school office number 01647 432412 and leave a message if there is no answer. And now for some lighter news! We have a PTFA meeting scheduled for Tuesday 17th November at 8.00pm via zoom (link below). Please feel free to join, anyone connected to the school is very welcome. If you can’t make the meeting but have any ideas for fundraising or events please do get in touch by emailing [email protected]

Welcome back to school. I do hope you have all had a good half term holiday week. As you will be aware, we are now facing another lockdown. This time the staff and children are expected to be in school unless they are in the “extremely clinically vulnerable” category. We do have a small number of staff and children who fall within this category who we have been liaising with over the weekend and today. It is vital that we continue our procedures to keep us all safe. |
